I did, however, get a fair bit of writing done. Including a new, longer-than-usual fiblet. Which I would post now, except someone has just phoned in search of beer and I need a break after all these 'crawlments I've just answered.
So, see you tomorrow.

I sympathize with you on your jury duty. Three months ago I completed a grueling 3-week (!) trial by finding a a scrawny heroin addict guilty of two counts of negligent homicide and two counts of manslaughter. The fucker's lawyer was good, though; I'll give him that. After three full days of heated deliberation, we finally convinced a squinty mechanic/former drug addict on the jury that plaintiff Dilboy was guilty.
During sentencing a week later, our judge gave Dilboy life in prison without parole. Two brutally mangled bodies, a 16-year-old son and a 34-year-old brother-in-law, were weepingly mourned in the courtroom.
My jaw clenched watching the unbridled outpouring of emotion. Tears. Anger. A wife sobbing and mumbling rage-ripe obscenities at Dilboy that everyone could hear. Camera bulbs flashing all over the place.
The next day every newspaper within 100 miles featured the trial's outcome on its front page.
I hope your experience was less visceral.
